Rutland Keep Safe Scheme
A network of safe public places for vulnerable people who feel unsafe or confused.
It is okay to feel overwhelmed when you are out; these safe spaces are there to ensure you never have to feel truly alone.
About this service
When you are out and about in the community, it is important to know that help is nearby if you ever feel confused, unsafe, or unwell. The Keep Safe scheme designates specific local shops and public buildings as safe havens, easily identifiable by a bright yellow sticker in the window. If you find yourself in distress, you can step inside and find a member of staff who is trained to help. They can offer a quiet place to sit, call a family member for you, or contact emergency services if needed. This scheme provides a vital safety net for those who might feel vulnerable while exploring the county independently.
