About this service
The Barnet Sanctuary Project is operated by the Sanctuary Scheme Coordinator in Barnet Homes' Housing Options Team. It is a victim-centred initiative that helps domestic abuse survivors remain in their own home — reducing the trauma of displacement — by assessing and installing appropriate security measures such as strengthened doors, window locks, smoke alarms and personal alarms. The scheme is available to survivors in Barnet who want to stay in their current home if it can be made safe. It also coordinates with the fire brigade for home fire safety visits.
