CMS Clarity – Child Maintenance Clarity Check

About this service

CMS Clarity provides a free online child maintenance calculator and practical guidance for separated parents. It helps paying and receiving parents understand Child Maintenance Service calculations, including income and shared-care adjustments, and identify relevant records and practical next steps. CMS Clarity states that its child-maintenance guidance has been reviewed and approved by family law solicitors.

How they can help you

• Help you understand estimated child maintenance payments. • Explain how income and shared-care arrangements can affect calculations. • Help you identify relevant records and practical next steps. • Provide free online guidance for both paying and receiving parents.

What to expect

Visit the CMS Clarity website to use the free calculator and explore its guidance. Optional personalised reports are available for £9.99. You do not need to purchase a report to access the free calculator and general guidance. CMS Clarity is independent, is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice or representation, and is not affiliated with the statutory Child Maintenance Service or DWP.

What to bring

As this is an online service, there is no in-person appointment to attend. Information about income and shared-care arrangements may be helpful when using the calculator.

Who it's for

Separated parents across the UK who want to understand child maintenance, including both parents receiving payments and parents paying maintenance.
