About this service

Childline provides through 1-2-1 chat, phone calls, or email support for young people in distress. It is there for children and young people under the age of 19. There is no charge for using it. You can contact them yourself, so you do not need to be referred by anyone else. Opening times are 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Young people can often say what they need in their own way, and there is no right way to start the conversation. Getting support early can make a real difference for a young person, and asking for it is never an overreaction.
