Curious Minds: Sleep – Why We Need It and Why We're Losing It
A fascinating lecture on the science of sleep by Dr Emma Gale, part of the Curious Minds series at AK Bell Library.
About this event
Sleep is something everyone does, yet it remains one of the most misunderstood aspects of health. Dr Emma Gale of St Andrews University explores how sleep influences children's health, development, learning and wellbeing, as well as its wider impact on physical health, mental wellbeing, memory and obesity across the lifespan. The talk separates common myths from scientific evidence and examines whether sleep should be treated as a public health priority. You can expect a thought-provoking, evidence-based talk with practical insights into how small changes can support healthier sleep at any age. This session is suitable for adults aged 16 and over.
