Cremating the Dead: Bronze Age Funerary Practices in Perthshire
An evening talk exploring Bronze Age cremation practices at the Sketewan site in Perthshire at Perth Museum.
About this event
In this talk, Beth Brunton focuses on the osteological analysis of cremated human remains at Sketewan, Balnaguard in Perthshire, an Early to Middle Bronze Age funerary site. Exploring the results of the bioarchaeological analysis of the remains, Beth discusses the cremation technology and associated funerary practices, and what this analysis can tell us about how practices in Perthshire fit into the broader picture of funerary practices in Bronze Age Scotland. You can expect a fascinating evening of archaeological discovery and discussion. This session is suitable for adults aged 16 and over.
